Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates
The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.
That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds now.
"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
